Micro-Heat Desiccant Air Dryers Our Micro-Heat Desiccant Air Dryers operate with efficiency akin to Heatless Air Dryers, but they incorporate a key enhancement. The process uniquely utilizes a high-efficiency external heater to warm the compressed dried air before it enters the off-line (B) Tower for desiccant regeneration. This heated air, with its increased moisture capacity, significantly reduces the volume of dry compressed air necessary for the regeneration phase. While there is a higher initial investment due to heater-related components, the reduced need for diverted compressed air ensures lower ongoing operational costs.

Key Components of the Desiccant Air Dryer include two primary pressure vessels(referred to as Tower A & Tower B). Each vessel is packed with desiccant material and they operate in an alternating manner through a switch-over mechanism. During the drying cycle, the compressed air is channeled into one vessel, where the desiccant effectivelyabsorbs moisture from the air. Subsequently, moisture is expelled into the atmosphere via a muffler, after which the moisture absorbed by the desiccant in the second vessel is eliminated through the regeneration process. Once the desiccant in the active drying vessel reaches moisture saturation, the system switches the roles of adsorption and regeneration between the two vessels, thus restarting the cycle.

We define one full sequence of adsorption and regeneration in a vessel as a complete cycle. The duration necessary for this process is termed as the cycle time. Typically, a cycle time spans approximately 10 minutes, with the regeneration and adsorption phases each lasting 5 minutes.
